Use exact ad dimensions only. Display ad rates are for camera ready digital files. Please see Digital Submission Guidelines below. If your ad requires design, set-up or digital modification, ad production costs are billed at the rate of $35 per hour. Please see Advertising Terms and Conditions.

Holistic Directory

The Holistic Directory includes descriptions of holistic services and businesses organized by category. People turn to this directory like a phone book to find the services they want quickly and easily, so we recommend you keep your name and logo present on an ongoing basis in this section of the magazine. For additional exposure, the entire Holistic Directory appears online each issue as a downloadable pdf.

Setup:
We set up all holistic directory ads in our standard font and format. Your cost is determined by the number of words you submit and your preferences in setting up your text and logo. Graphics are placed in the left column only. A proof of your listing will be sent for your approval before printing.

Discount:
50% off 4th consecutively run ad. Your discount is calculated as an average of all four ads run, with the discount not to exceed the cost of the fourth ad. Your account must be current for us to run your 4th issue discounted ad. Please read Advertising Terms and Conditions.

Cost:
$80 per inch or fraction thereof, measuring the live text/graphic area only. Minimum cost: $120. The sample below measures 1.75” tall and costs $140. Set up fee: $25. Changes to existing ads: $10 per issue.

E-mail/web addresses count as two words each. Photos: Accepted for inclusion in the calendar on a space available basis, or $125 per photo guaranteed placement. For additional exposure, the entire Calendar appears on our Web site each issue.

Classified:
$1.50 per word, $35 minimum. Add a box around your ad for $10. See Word count information above for figuring your cost. Please submit typed listings by email (preferred), fax or mail and choose a category. If no category is specified we will choose one for you. Organized by town and state, your listing includes 25 words of your choice. Please submit typed listings by email (preferred), fax or mail. Cost: $200/year. One copy change per year allowed.

Directory of Holistic Specialties:
Choose a category heading and a maximum of 84 characters and spaces. We capitalize the first two words in your listing. Please submit typed listings by email (preferred), fax or mail. Cost: $160/year. One copy change per year allowed.

Regional Advertising- CT, RI, NH/VT:
Special advertising sections each issue feature square 3” x 3 blocks. Cost $180 per square (design included).

Online Health Guide Listing:
Includes your name, address, phone, fax, e-mail, web address link plus a 25-word description of your service. Please choose a category for each listing. Cost: $60.

Home Page Link:
Take advantage of prime web exposure with a photo, logo or headline announcement link to your website on the Spirit of Change home page, http://www.spiritofchange.org. Cost $350 per issue.

Alternative Health Guide for New England:
This convenient, digest-sized phone book is published annually each May. 100,000 free copies are distributed. Digital Submission Guidelines

Mechanical Specs and Digital Guidelines:
Spirit of Change Magazine is produced digitally using QuarkXPress/Adobe InDesign and Adobe PDF on the Macintosh platform. We require electronic ads supplied to our specifications for all camera ready display ads and other graphic materials submitted (logos, photos, etc). Materials not in compliance with our specs will be modified and accepted at the publisher’s discretion and using our font substitutions where necessary. Please fax or mail a hard copy version of your digital ad.

We accept ad layouts and supporting graphic files created with:

• Adobe Acrobat (PDF files with all fonts & graphics properly embedded), Adobe Illustrator (EPS files, converting all text to outline), QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop (TIFF or EPS files). Be sure to include all fonts and supporting files used in the ad, including fonts buried in EPS files.
• Please use exact ad dimensions for display ads.
  Trim size: 10 3/4 “ x 13 5/8”.
  Full page bleed: Add ¼” on all four sides to trim size.
• No web graphics accepted.
• No True Type fonts accepted. Postscripts fonts only.
• Output should be set for Press Ready, 300 dpi, B&W or grayscale with no RGB or CMYK elements, unless you are placing a color or spot color ad. The magazine is printed at 100 line screen.
• Calendar photos can be glossy originals of any size or digital TIFF or EPS files at least 6” x 5” at 300 DPI and 100% of size.
• Keep files to less than 2MB by sending separate smaller files or compressing files using Stuffit (.sit), Zip (.zip) and Self-Extracting Archives (.sea).

Advertising Terms and Conditions

PAYMENT:
We accept check, Visa/MasterCard/Discover, cash, money order, PayPal, and ITEX barter. Payment is due upon placing your ad and will be assessed late charges and collection costs after 60 days past due. Spirit of Change reserves the right to change advertising rates with 30 days notice. 4th issue 50% discounted ads will not be placed unless your account is current, voiding your discount and consecutive status. Unless we receive your cancellation notice, Annual Perk Advertisers receive an invoice each issue for their advertising which constitutes an ad insertion order. Ad insertion orders not cancelled by 7 days after the ad deadline become binding for that issue and advertisers will be held accountable for payment of that space.

AD CHANGES:
It is the advertiser’s responsibility to submit ad changes for each issue. Spirit of Change will run the advertiser’s most recent ad without liability if no new ad copy, artwork or revisions are submitted by the deadline.

SOC ADVERTISING CONDITIONS:
Publisher reserves the right to reject any advertising at any time and is not liable for any cost or damages if, for any reason, they fail to publish an ad. For printed errors of the publisher’s responsibility, liability is limited to the cost of the ad space. Value of Perks and Discounts is non-redeemable for cash or credit and is subject to availability. Accounts past 60 days voids eligibility for Discounts or Perks. Editorial themes may change without notice. Publisher cannot guarantee that any advertisement will appear on a specific page or at a specific position on a page without the payment of preferred placement fees. Advertisers are liable for any claims made against Spirit of Change as a result of ad content supplied to the publisher. Publisher and its constituents will not be responsible for the printing quality of any artwork or ad provided by the advertiser that is of poor quality or in non-compliance with our digital or mechanical requirements, or for the printing of digital files submitted without hard copy proof.

DISTRIBUTION:
Display and Holistic Directory advertisers will receive one complimentary copy of the magazine mailed to them for each issue their ad runs. Please supply us with your current mailing address. OR advertisers may elect to have either 5 or 10 complimentary copies mailed to them by providing us with a current mailing address. OR advertisers may elect to receive a complimentary bulk shipment of magazines delivered to them by supplying us with a current street delivery address. Please specify the amount of copies to be received each issue as 25, 50, 100, 200 or 200+ (call for details.)
