PAYMENT: We accept check, Visa/Master Card/Discover, money order, PayPal, and ITEX barter. Payment is due upon placing your ad and will be assessed late charges and collection costs after 60 days past due. Advertising payment is non-refundable in cash, but may be left on account for use at a future time if your ad is cancelled before the deadline.
EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT: All insertion order forms with payment in full received or postmarked on or before January 30, 2009 will receive a 10% discount off the entire advertising order placed by that date. No discounts will apply without full payment.
SPECIAL DISCOUNT: Deduct $5 off each basic listing when you place 3 or more. Deduct $5 off each medical cross reference when you place 5 or more.
BASIC LISTING FORMATTING: First line is bold, all caps, and must be a name (w/wo professional initials) OR business name OR a headline not exceeding 4 words. No exceptions. Your listing will be indexed by your first line. Following the first line is your bolded contact info in this order: name, professional initials, address, city, state, zip, phone, email, website. Any other information in your listing is printed as standard body text. Display ad page numbers (if applicable) are cross-referenced with your basic listings.
COPIES OF THE ALTERNATIVE HEALTH GUIDE: Each advertiser is allowed one complementary shipment of guides (1-200 copies, indicate on ad insertion order form). If you do not specify a bulk shipment of guides, one courtesy copy will be mailed to you.
AD DESIGN: Flat $25 design charge/display ad (any size) includes initial proof and up to two revisions. Additional revisions are billed at $35/hour.
DIGITAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: We require electronic ads supplied to our specifications for all camera ready display ads and other graphic materials submitted (logos, photos, etc). Materials not in compliance with our specs will be accepted at the publisher’s discretion. The Alternative Health Guide is produced digitally using InDesign, QuarkXPress and Adobe PDF on the Macintosh platform. We accept ad layouts and supporting graphic files created with: InDesign QuarkXPress, Adobe Acrobat PDF (with all fonts and graphics properly embedded), Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop (TIFF or EPS), Adobe Illustrator (EPS; convert all text to outline). Include all fonts and supporting files used in the ad, including fonts buried in EPS files. No TrueType or Multiple Master fonts accepted; use Postscript and OpenType fonts only. Supporting graphic files (ie, scans, photos, grayscale images, logos, etc.) accepted in EPS, TIFF and JPG (hi-resolution not web) format only. Output should be set for Press Ready, 300 dpi, B&W or grayscale with no RGB or CMYK elements, unless you are placing a color or spot color ad. The guide is printed at 100 line screen. Please “zip” or “sit” your files when sending them as attachments via email. Each compressed attachment should be self-extracting and no larger than 3MB. For larger files please upload to our FTP site, call 508-278-9640 for details. Use file names less than 15 characters long to minimize file corruption. Please fax or mail a hard copy version of your camera ready display ad.
SOC ADVERTISING CONDITIONS: Publisher reserves the right to reject any advertising at any time and is not liable for any cost or damages if, for any reason, they fail to publish an ad. For printed errors of the publisher’s responsibility, liability is limited to the cost of the ad space. Publisher cannot guarantee that any display ad will appear on a specific page or at a specific position on a page. Advertisers are liable for any claims made against Spirit of Change as a result of ad content supplied to the publisher. Publisher and its constituents will not be responsible for the printing quality of any artwork or ad provided by the advertiser that is of poor quality or in non-compliance with our digital or mechanical requirements, or for the printing of digital files submitted without hard copy proof.
