Chelation Therapy

Chelation therapy must be performed by or under the supervision of a DO, MD, ND or nurse practitioner. The American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) provides physician education in chelation therapy, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, nutrition, functional medicine, intravenous therapy, and oxidative medicine. In 2009, ACAM completed the process for developing a certification program for chelation therapy and using CCT as a credential, although this certification is not required to perform treatment.
