The koshas are a paradigm through which we can view and contemplate the layers of our being. Koshas are a dimension of yoga philosophy that integrate other systems of yogic energetic anatomy such as the tattvas (elements) and the chakras (energetic centers).
There are five koshas (layers of being) including physical, energy, psycho-emotional, wisdom, and bliss. The yogis considered each of these layers an entity that relates to each of the other layers--while the bliss body (our true self) contains them all. By distinguishing these aspects of ourselves, we can come to understand more fully areas of dis-ease and wellness within us.
In this series, you will be guided into a deeper understanding and experience of the koshas. We will practice gentle yoga and meditation and also will participate in discussions and sharing. Our group will hold a space in which we can each travel inward. We will access each kosha individually and discover what is there to be found for each of us. We will practice techniques to facilitate well-being on all levels. You will also learn healing techniques for home practice to keep the wellness flowing even after our workshop is over. All are welcome on this journey of discovery.
