The aim of Gentle/Moderate Kripalu Yoga is compassionate self-awareness, gentle stretching, and relaxation. The class include slow warm-ups to soothe the body, basic postures to release muscular tension, simple breathing practices to clam the nervous system, and time for rest and integration. The encouragement throughout practice is to find your own balance of strength, stretch, and ease. This class is appropriate for beginners/some yoga experience, people with injuries, and individuals needing rest, and also those who are comfortable exploring more intense sensations.
Sara Dugas began her yoga journey many years ago during her pregnancy via home non-subtitled DVDs. As a Deaf individual, she was frustrated with the lack of yoga access for the Deaf community. Inspired by the transformation and benefits of yoga, Sara completed her certification in Kripalu Yoga Teacher (RYT 200). She now tailors and makes her class accessible to the signing community. Sara is known for her authentic, non-judgmental teaching style, and compassion-centered philosophy. It is her wish that you find your inner peace, both on and off the mat.
