This event occurs weekly, on Saturday.
Dates: Saturday, January 27 and Saturday, February 3.
This two-day class is for those want to go deeper into their personal healing journey with the system of Reiki and who want to strengthen their connection with the animals. It is for volunteers who want to offer Reiki healing in person or distantly to animals in shelters and rescues, and/or for animal body workers who wish to enhance their work with the animals. Students will be able to professionally practice Reiki after taking this class (with further experience and continued practice with the system of Reiki.). This class is based on the Japanese traditional teachings of Reiki taught by Frans Stiene of the International House of Reiki. The focus is healing of the self so that you can help others to heal.
Prerequisite: Reiki Level I of any lineage. Reiki Level II students of any lineage are also welcome to join our circle.
The first day of class we will come together in a circle to delve deeper, through discussion and meditation, into the elements of the system of Reiki taught in Shoden Reiki I. Additional Level II meditations and techniques will be taught and practiced, as well as the first three symbols and mantras.
On the second day of class distant healing will be introduced and practiced. We will discuss the approach for treating animals and take plenty of time to practice various meditations, developed by Kathleen Prasad of Animal Reiki Source, with the canines!
A manual and certificate will be given.
Maximum number of students is 8. There is a $50 non-refundable deposit.
Both days held at Bancroft Doggone U.
Students will be asked to practice Reiki with their own animals, or animals at a rescue/shelter/friend's home during the week between classes.
* Friendly canines that get along well with people and other dogs are needed for our practice on February 3. They need to be happy to settle after we begin class, either on a lead next to their human or in a safe space such as a crate. No Reiki experience is necessary. Please email Lisa Ruthig if you are able to bring a dog.
