Alternating Saturdays and Sundays beginning February 18 and ending May 12
Sanskrit is a highly refined tool for help with self study. Knowledge of Sanskrit makes it possible to grasp the subtleties of yoga, whose body of teachings are written in Sanskrit.
Since ancient times the practice of yoga has included the study of Sanskrit and the chanting of Sanskrit mantras to induce calm and clarity in meditation. It is a remarkable system for reprogramming human intelligence for self-discovery and freedom from self-limitation. The program being offered will teach how to approach Sanskrit as yoga learning. Sanskrit is the language of yoga.
The first step is to develop an intimacy with the sounds and become familiar with the locations in the mouth where the sounds are produced and experiencing their power and the unique way the syllables vibrate the palate, body and chakras.
The training program will be presented by John Featherstone on seven alternating Saturdays and Sundays beginning February 18 and ending May 12.
The dates are: February 18 and 25, March 10 and 18, April 14 and 22, May 12.
