October 12 - 14
Women in recovery, this weekend is for you. Gather with like-minded folks on a path of healing. Relax and connect with others in a small group setting. Our itinerary for the weekend will include meditation, Yoga for Recovery led by Jen Leavitt, delicious meals, plus lots of time to rest and be in nature at the beautiful Still Waters.
Enjoy a hike in the woods or kayak on the pond. Rest and read a book in one of our cozy relaxation spots throughout the property. Take out your journal and write inspiring thoughts or sketch. Chat with others on a similar path. We'll co-create 12-step meetings throughout the weekend as desired by the group conscience. Our agenda will be loose with lots of free time to spend how you choose in this rustic nature and art-filled environment.
We spend so much of our lives online, connected to devices and disconnected from each other. Here's a weekend where we unplug, come together as individuals and share our experience, strength, and hope on retreat.
All accommodations shared. The main house has five guest bedrooms and 3-1/2 guest bathrooms. Private rooms are available for an added cost. Private room bookings will reduce the total number of retreat guests.
The leaf-peeping will be amazing at Still Waters during this great weekend in October.
Yoga for Recovery is an all-levels class that offers physical, mental, and emotional support to anyone struggling with an addictive behavior or who is in recovery. The practice will consist of a 45-minute yoga practice followed by discussion and group sharing facilitated by the group leader. Note that the discussion is similar to, but not affiliated with, any 12-step program.
Jen Leavitt, a 2011 graduate of the WHY Teacher Training program, is also a certified Therapeutic Yoga instructor and Yin Yoga teacher. Her personal yoga practice has served as an anchor through various life experiences, including divorce, recovery, and spiritual growth. Trained as both a social worker and a lawyer, Jen has worked in criminal defense and juvenile law for the past ten years. Jen has been in recovery since May 5, 2008. She currently lives in West Hartford with her partner, Keith, and their daughter Addie.
Amy LaBossiere, the managing partner of Still Waters, created this retreat in celebration of her 50th birthday. She's a woman in recovery since May 2014, Managing Partner of Still Waters Retreat Center and author of Finding Still Waters: The Art of Conscious Recovery.
This intimate weekend event is limited to up to 10 fabulous women in recovery. Your participation and support help us to sustain Still Waters Retreat Center for future groups. Thank you.
Cost for the weekend is at our introductory rate of $395 per person, includes all meals, accommodations, and activities. Space is limited, register here: https://www.wetravel.com/trips/women-in-recovery-weekend-still-waters-retreat-center-voluntown-39928604
