Join us for an evening of deep exploration and transformation using the healing power of the breath.

Breathwork is a simple yet profound method that integrates the latest insights from modern consciousness research with anthropology, western depth and transpersonal psychologies, and mystical traditions from around the world. By combining enhanced breathing practices with evocative music in a safe set and setting, participants are able to expand their consciousness to access states that allow us to reconnect with our essential nature. This work also stimulates the release of emotional and energetic blocks anchored within the body that have been preventing the healing process and causing many of the problems we face. Breathwork activates a natural inner healing process which can bring profound insight and personal growth at all levels of Self.

Breathwork is particularly supportive of the following:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Addictions
  • Increasing creativity
  • Reconnecting with essential Self
  • Boosting energy levels
  • Balancing the nervous system
  • Trauma release

Each 3-hour class includes:

  • an introduction to the practice *
  • 1-hour breathwork session
  • integration and sharing circle

Please bring the following:

  • wear comfortable clothes in layers in case you get hot or cold.
  • yoga mat or something padded to lie on
  • water bottle
  • eye shades or scarf to cover the eyes
  • blanket, sleeping bag, or throw in case you become cold
  • persons with asthma must bring their inhaler

Contraindications. Breathwork is a safe practice but is not recommended for some circumstances. Please read the following contraindications carefully before registering: Breathwork can cause the strong emotional release and isnt recommended for individuals in accute stages of post-traumatic stress. Breathwork is not recommended for women who are pregnant or anyone with recent surgeries, fractures, spinal injuries, or severe osteoporosis. Persons on strong antipsychotic medications may not experience any benefit from this work. Persons with asthma should bring their inhaler. Persons with acute communicable conditions such as cold or flu are asked to avoid the class at this time. If you have any questions about these, please contact us.

Your Guide: Allen Howell, M.Ed., LMHC CCTP is a psychotherapist and trauma specialist based in Boston. He is certified in Holotropic Breathwork™ and has studied many types of alternative wellness practices including various breath-focused yogas (pranayama, kundalini, sudarshan kriya, yoga nidra) as well as contemporary western breath therapies. Allen has a passion for integrating eastern and western practices into a holistic approach to wellness.
