This is a free and mandatory orientation prior to registering for the 8 week group program of mindfulness based stress reduction or MBSR. Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week group program. MBSR is for individuals experiencing stress resulting from chronic physical and/or psychological conditions.
This 8-week group program helps develop the capacity for greater calm and teaches practical skills to manage stress. The majority of MBSR program participants report lasting decreases in psychological and physical symptoms exacerbated by chronic stress. Research has demonstrated improved behavioral outcomes including better sleep, lower blood pressure and fewer worries.
Saturday, January 25 — Mandatory orientation from 1–2p
Saturday classes — 1–3:30pm from Feb 8 to March 28
Sunday, February 15 — All day retreat from 10:30am–4pm
Liz Wood received the designation of “Qualified” teacher of the MBSR 8-week program at the UMASS Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society. Liz has been a massage therapist since 2002 and is a yoga instructor.
Cost: $295 early-bird till Jan 27 ($320 after)
