Yoga, Meditation & Mindfulness Day For Gay & Open Minded Men

February 1, 2020
10:30 AM until 04:30 PM

Led by Chuck Raffoni ( E-RYT200) named a “person making postiive change in the world for the LGBTQ Community” by Pride Connections and featured on NBC's Today Show for teaching yoga to men.

Join together for a day of brotherhood with like minded men for a day of Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditiation to explore how these practices can enhance our lives and the issues we face. Powered by the philosophy of the Yoga Sutras we will discuss how these practices can support how we deal with stress, aging, body image, sexuality and how we relate and support each other.

This practice is suitable for anyone with an open-mind. If you have the physical ability to lay and sit on the floor comfortably for extended periods, can get yourself up off the floor without assistance and do not have any injuries that a doctor has told you to avoid exercise, you would be suitable for the movement portions of this day retreat.

Tentative Schedule:

Introductions and workshopping of essential poses to begin or deepen our practice and warm up the body.

Sacral Chakra Yoga Asana Practice: You do not need to know the names of Yoga Poses to participate. The practice is welcoming to beginners but it is recommended for able-bodied individuals. By able-bodied those who are able to sit on the floor, lay on their back and stand for periods of times, are not working with serious injuries or illness. This practice will include movements, breathing and focus on the Sacral Chakra- the energy center of the body that powers our sense of creativity and sexuality.

Lunch Break ( Bring Your Own Lunch or Pick Up From a Local Option). We will use this time to commune over food and get to know each other better.

Discussion on how the practice of Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation can support a quality life. Powered by the philosophy of the Yoga Sutras we will apply the concepts to areas of our lives including stress management, aging, body image, sexuality and how we respond to and support one another.

A Final Practice that will include gentle movements and stretches, followed by a guided meditation to bring you in touch with your physical body and spiritual needs.

Due to the mature themes we will be discussing please be 18 plus.

This is a private event being held at this location, with respect to the location, fully nude yoga will not be allowed, shirtless practice is fine and you may wish to bring a blanket for a covered final mediation.

Yoga Mats are available but if you have your own please bring it. Also any yoga props that may make your practice more comfortable. Blocks, Straps, Bolsters not required but could enhance your comfort level. A Blanket is highly encouraged.
