As a biracial therapist, I have a unique–and personal–perspective on multicultural issues. I understand what it feels like to straddle two worlds, to not belong or question where you fit in, and to feel misunderstood or invisible. I support my clients by offering a safe, nonjudgmental space to talk about your struggles and find relief from suffering. You are not alone!
I work with clients of all backgrounds, but specialize in working with clients of color; particularly those who identify as mixed-race/biracial and clients in interracial families and/or relationships. Using the mind-body connection and mindfulness-based techniques I can help you work on a variety of issues, including improving self-compassion and self-esteem, reducing day-to-day feelings of distress (anxiety, stress, sadness, etc.), and identity issues (racial, sexual orientation, gender). I am also trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or ‘tapping’ therapy. EFT is a wonderful practice that can help you find relief from emotional distress and/or physical pain. EFT is a form of energy therapy that can help reduce your stress and anxiety related to the issues you may be struggling with.
