“Your legacy is in every life you touch.” — Maya Angelou

The autumnal equinox, marked by the Sun’s arrival in Libra, the sign of marriage, is one of two times during the year when the forces of daylight and darkness are equal. It is the qualities of fairness and harmony that are the hallmarks of healthy relationships. As the scales, symbol of partnership-oriented Libra remind us, balance, justice and harmony are delicate propositions. It is for this reason that astrology also considers Libra the sign of open enemies. However, in these challenging times let’s do our best to keep Libra’s promises of peace, love and understanding at heart.

The Sun In Libra, September 22-October 21

The Sun slips into Libra on Monday, September 22nd at 2:19PM EDT, forming an artful grand trine with Uranus and Pluto. The triangular configuration inspires countless visionaries, creatives and reformers. Like-minded people effortlessly agree on shared principles and priorities. Simultaneously the Sun tests Saturn and Neptune. This equinox horoscope is enormously complicated. Evolutionary forces compete with fear of the unknown. Mars arrives in his ancient home sign of Scorpio the same day. Here the God of War makes a tense square with Pluto. Some relationships are stormy. The threat of force is real. However, a favorable angle from Jupiter to Saturn suggests the truth is making inroads. Do not be shy when it comes to sharing facts or opinions, but remain tactful.

Mixed trends continue to dominate on Tuesday the 23rd and Wednesday the 24th. Both days feature morning challenges while hopes grow stronger as the daytime hours pass. Avoid overreaching Tuesday morning. Be courteous during the early hours of Wednesday. Wednesday evening is a great time to socialize. Mellower influences are in play leading into and during the weekend of September 27th and 28th. Monday the 29th features the first quarter Moon in ambitious Capricorn. Plans may need to be adjusted. Include partners in any decisions and everyone is more likely to be pleased.

The morning of Wednesday, October 1st feels busy and productive. However, a late afternoon square between Mercury and Jupiter strongly suggests that some claims are exaggerated. Judgment can be flawed, overly optimistic or too gullible. Intuitive senses, on the other hand are ultra sharp under lunar aspects to Neptune, Uranus and Pluto. Listen to your instincts. The cosmos continues to send mixed signals, simultaneously spurring action and urging caution.

Emotional responses intensify during the coming days. The Moon is nearing her full stage. The early morning of Thursday the 2nd offers a green light for networking and other group activities. Midday Friday brings a productive few hours. Meetings and planning sessions are favored. Evening social plans, on the other hand, are likely to go awry. Keep your sense of humor handy and gracefully accept what you cannot change.

The first part of Sunday, October 5th glows with heart-centered warmth. The Pisces Moon is aligned with Venus and Jupiter. Breakfasts, brunches and day trips can be glorious. By nightfall the Moon is nearing a somber conjunction with Saturn. It is time to face responsibilities, recent losses and other limiting circumstances.

Less than an hour after midnight on busy Monday the 6th the Moon enters dynamic Aries. During the noon hour Mercury enters Scorpio and minutes before midnight, high overhead, the Hunter’s Moon is exactly full. The full Moon chart is challenging. The price of acting without due forethought is spotlighted. Impacts on others must be weighed carefully. Be sure to treat partners as you would have them treat you.

Emotions remain heated on Tuesday morning October 6. Mercury is at odds with  Pluto. Misunderstandings and resentments can linger. Do not jump to conclusions. An assumption may just be your own projection. If you are not sure, talk with a colleague. Get both sides of the story. Tuesday afternoon brings a welcome opportunity to decompress.

An uplifting sextile between Venus and Jupiter launches Wednesday, October 8th on a positive note. The day remains fairly quiet until late afternoon when the now waning Taurus Moon opposes feisty Mars. Tensions can raise the pitch gradually or suddenly. Cooperate as best you can. Mutual interests are a good guidepost. Thursday, October 9th at last sees solidly upbeat trends. Savor the pleasures of special friendships, lively conversations and happy memories.

Emotions remain heated on Tuesday morning October 6. Mercury is at odds with  Pluto. Do not jump to conclusions. Tuesday afternoon brings a welcome opportunity to decompress.

On Saturday, October 11th Venus’ annual opposition with Saturn can lead to a detailed evaluation of expenses and the status of key relationships. With the Gemini Moon and Libra Sun simultaneously in a harmonious trine it is a good time to work out solutions. Under mixed influences nighttime activities can have awkward moments. Home is the place to be as the Moon slips into Cancer early Sunday morning.

Monday, October 13th sees more changes. The lively and complex day offers a smorgasbord of experiences. The Cancer Moon is at her last quarter phase during the early afternoon. As hard as one may try, pleasing everyone may not be possible. Come evening, Venus enters her own sign of Libra. Decorum, good taste and thoughtful design are supported for the next few weeks. Things then get magical. The Moon joins forces with jolly Jupiter, a natural mood elevator. Venus opposes Neptune, an invocation of divine compassion and unconditional love. The alignment also increases emotional and psychic sensitivity. Responses to kindness, art, Mother Nature and otherworldly sensations are stimulated. At the outer edges of our solar system Pluto turns direct in early Aquarius. Unexpected political realignments as well as new partnership are likely.

The Leo Moon helps Tuesday October 14th get off to a brilliant start. Early morning lunar aspects to Neptune, Venus and Uranus have many souls walking on air. Venus is super active, forming a grand trine configuration with Uranus and Pluto. The more we give, the more we receive. Altruism is alive and well.

Resist an impulse to step in and play the “fixer” on Thursday the 16th. Thanks to a lunar square with Uranus, Thursday afternoon is filled with uncertainties. Some situations are beyond anyone’s control. During the wee hours of Friday, the Sun forms a testing square with Jupiter in maternal Cancer. Expectations are inflated. As tough as it may be to see a partner face unexpected difficulties, saying “you can handle it” could be the greatest gift to offer.

Saturday, October 18th is a great day for household chores, self-care and putting your corner of the world in order. The nighttime entertainment scene is mystical and magical. One minute after midnight on Sunday the Moon enters Libra. Her midday conjunction with Venus is a fantastic omen for all social gatherings. Art lovers will enjoy trips to museums and galleries.

The exciting Libra new Moon occurs early Tuesday morning, October 21st. The powerful new Moon horoscope depicts great challenges and also the energy and ingenuity to overcome them. Humankind is called to work through differences and as the great Hunkpapa Lakota chief Sitting Bull said, “Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children.” Aho.

The Sun In Scorpio, October 22-November 20

Scorpio season begins nine minutes before midnight on Wednesday, October 22nd. Before dawn the same day retrograde Neptune returns to Pisces, triggering all manner of feelings, memories and reflections. The need to work with partners is a hallmark of Scorpio. Meaningful experiences are sought out and treasured. The quest for understanding is intensified. This year, the newly minted Scorpio Sun is at odds with Pluto, the obsessive planet of transformative experiences. Stay aware of and accommodate partners.

In many respects, Thursday, October 23rd is a productive, business as usual kind of day. However, with the tense Sun/Pluto square looming, it is best to treat others gently. Keep the focus on mutual needs and interests. Fortunately, mental Mercury is in an uplifting trine with Jupiter, making it easier to stay on the high road. Weekend travelers are eager to get a head start.

Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th are congenial days. Saturday evening’s Mercury/Saturn trine supports making long term commitments. Sunday morning lethargy could take a few hours to shake off but the day ends with good moods.

The wee hours of Tuesday, October 28th feature an energizing trine between Mars and Jupiter. Racing minds can make sleep challenging but the daytime and evening hours are quite fruitful. Wednesday the 29th brings sweet dreams and daytime course changes. The stressful first quarter Moon in Aquarius dominates the noon hour. Those people pleasers who rise to the occasion make lifelong friends. By Thursday, October 31new options are on the table. Halloween morning is filled with anxious moments but more harmonious energies arrive during the afternoon, well before evening trick or treat time. The vibe is suitably spooky after dark as the Pisces Moon and Scorpio Sun harmonize.

The waxing Pisces Moon casts a silvery glow the night of Saturday, November 1st, All Saints Day. Be sure to adjust your clocks before going to bed as Standard Time begins on Sunday, November 2nd. Sunday is astrologically busy. It is a fine day to visit a place you have not been to before or do things you have never done. With Venus testing Jupiter, squeezing as much as possible into the day is tempting. Working towards dreams is irresistible on Monday the 3rd. Mars is in a trine with Neptune, each at the final degree of their respective signs. Long term goals and heart’s desires may at last be reached.

Tuesday, November 4th brings distinct challenges. Mars is opposite Uranus, increasing the risk of accidents and mechanical difficulties. Patience may wear thin and tempers can be short fused. Mars’ entry into loquacious Sagittarius adds spice to the simmering atmosphere. Act, speak and drive accordingly. Slow down. The waxing, nearly full Moon enters Taurus late Tuesday morning.

The full Beaver Moon in Taurus is exact at 8:19 Wednesday morning on November 5th. Once again, the astrological omens are complicated. In addition to the energizing Sun/Moon opposition, Mars and Mercury remain opposed to Uranus, a potentially explosive configuration. Be gentle with partners and use extra caution while driving or operating machinery. Benevolent impulses inspire and uplift kind and creative souls.

Thursday, November 6th is a fabulous day for solving problems. Be open to new ideas during the morning. The afternoon and evening hours require patience. Uranus retrogrades into Taurus on Friday the 7th. Financial markets may be turbulent. Venus’ afternoon square to Pluto can contribute to money worries. The tense aspect has the potential to strain close friendships. Handle with care is a good mantra to use.

The weekend of the 8th and 9th holds many sweet moments. Close to Mars, mental Mercury turns retrograde in early Sagittarius on Sunday afternoon. The direction shift can impact thinking as well as travel plans. It is best to maintain an open mind this month. A change of heart is likely on Monday, November 10th. Self-respect could be at stake. Jupiter begins a retrograde on Tuesday the 11th, Veteran’s Day here in the US. Jupiter’s position in patriotic Cancer makes honoring the sacrifices of the men and women who have served our country all the more poignant. As tensions increase under Tuesday night’s last quarter Moon take pains not to offend anyone.

SittingbullThe powerful new Moon horoscope of October 21st depicts humankind is called to work through differences, and as the great Hunkpapa Lakota chief Sitting Bull said, “Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children.” Aho.

Gentler trends arrive late in the week. The night of Friday, November 14th can bring illuminating dreams. Increasing water sign grand trine energies motivate doers and idealists over the weekend of the 15th and 16th. Magical moments, healing emotions and enlightening experiences are among the many possibilities. Retrograding Mercury returns to Scorpio the night of Tuesday, November 18th. This is a good time to attend to an unfinished matter. Mental agility, faith and practical knowhow are handy essentials as we head towards new Moon.

During the wee hours of Thursday, November 20th the Moon is new in late Scorpio. The conjoined Sun, Moon and Mercury are a solid cornerstone of the ongoing watery grand trine. Feelings are deep and powerful. Intuitive faculties as well as empathic abilities are strengthened. However, unpredictable Uranus is in the mix, opposing the Scorpio stellium. A sudden, earthshaking change can catch folks off guard. It may be necessary to dream new, bigger and better dreams.

The Sun In Sagittarius, November 21-December 20

The evening of Friday, November 21st the Sun slips into philosophical Sagittarius. Dwindling hours of daylight and the holiday season are upon us. Saturday the 22nd’s varied trends can be useful for doing chores, taking care of business or setting off on an adventure. In any case, dinnertime repartee is highly entertaining. Relationships can reach new depths of intimacy and understanding. Monday, November 24th is a fruitful time, especially for professional partnerships. The astrological omens for holiday travel are topnotch from Monday through Wednesday the 26th.

The Moon begins Thursday, November 27th, Thanksgiving Day, in Aquarius. Gatherings are favored. After a brief spell of late morning angst and a midday void of course period, Luna moves on into Pisces during the early afternoon. Mixed trends persist, as does the friendly water sign grand trine, now featuring Jupiter in Cancer, Mercury and Venus in Scorpio, and Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. We savor our blessings while feeling the strain of a world on fire.

Friday’s restless energies give way to a busy Saturday, November 29th. For the most part, feelings are rich and warm. A midday worry is short-lived. During the noon hour Mercury resumes forward motion, adding to potential confusion and misunderstandings. Evening socializing is delightful, although some participants may have to bow out at the last minute. Do not take it personally. External forces are in play as Venus now opposes Uranus. Going someplace you have never been can be an excellent idea.

The Moon is waxing as December begins. Excitement is palpable the morning of Monday the 1st. Emotionally and financially rewarding forces are at work. Energy levels continue to rise on Tuesday and Wednesday. Spirits are high Wednesday evening as the Moon enters Gemini, setting the stage for Thursday, December 4th’s full Cold Moon. The Gemini Moon is full Thursday evening. Knowledge and beliefs are spotlighted. To borrow a phrase from Noble prize winner Bob Dylan, “Know your song well before you start singing.” For less musically inclined folks, gather your thoughts before speaking.

The holiday buzz grows stronger over the weekend of December 6th and 7th. Chores, seasonal events and holiday preparations are in full swing, especially on Sunday. The working week has an auspicious start as the Moon and Venus harmonize, but Monday night finds Mars and Saturn at odds. Mars will also test Neptune on Sunday, December 7th. It will be best to exercise due caution throughout the next week. Along the way Neptune turns direct the morning of Wednesday the 10th. More importantly, Mercury is at loggerheads with Uranus that afternoon. Minds may be erratic, and important details are easily missed. Be slow to judge and quick to compromise.

The afternoon of Thursday, December 11th past mistakes can be haunting under the last quarter Moon. Thankfully, burdens ease and mental fog lifts as Mercury arrives in Sagittarius Thursday evening. On Saturday, December 13th Mercury’s sextile with Pluto promotes well-reasoned, constructive thinking. Turn on the party lights Saturday night. Venus and the Moon conspire to make social events a success. Be careful on your way home. A pending square between Mars and Neptune presents possible risks while navigating bad weather.

Mars enters Capricorn during the wee hours of Monday, December 15th. Impulsive Mars benefits from Capricorn’s patient, methodical ways. The sign placement also energizes lovers of old ways and traditional values. After an upbeat day the Sagittarius Sun is at odds with Saturn the night of Tuesday the 16th. Responsibilities weigh heavily. Fatigue could require taking a rest. Respect you physical and emotional limitations. Energy levels are nearing a low point with the waning Moon.

On Friday, December 19th the new Moon in Sagittarius marks the beginning of a revitalizing cycle. With the conjoined Sun and Moon testing Saturn and Neptune, be sure to set realistic goals. For those living in the Northern Hemisphere these are the longest nights of the year. Conserve essential energy and other resources where and when you can. After taking us to a major gateway, Sagittarius season is ending. The winter solstice falls on Sunday, December 21st. Once again, the hours of daylight will soon begin to increase. Keep looking up!
