City Compost
In addition to the weekly collection of food scraps and compostables, City Compost does all of its own processing instead of mixing things in with other generators. By separating things out, they are able to provide a much higher quality finished compost by avoiding contaminants like cardboard with flame retardants and colored paper with heavy metals. They then test each batch of finished compost to determine pH, NPK, and other compost properties before it goes back to its home service customers or off to a community garden, school garden, or farm. They track all material at the individual customer level so the customer can receive up to 100% back as finished compost. Service is available across Massachusetts.
