AMTA National Humanitarian Award

On October 25, 2010, the American Massage Therapy Association honored John Vines, LMT, with their National Humanitarian of the Year award. For the past 15 years, John has been serving members of the Boston Living Center — New England’s largest community and resource center for people living with HIV/AIDS — by offering free massage appointments. According to BLC Volunteer Coordinator Lisa Brown, “Our holistic program is the most sought after program at our center, and one that our clients would not be able to afford outside of the BLC. This one-on-one attention is a wonderful benefit for our members who often find themselves isolated from other people. In a time when so much of our news is heartbreaking, it’s wonderful to share this inspiring story of giving and selflessness.” For more information about the BLC visit http://www.bostonliving.org.
