Local Spa Rebuilds With Community Support After Fire In Grafton
Truth Organic Spa receives an outpouring of donations to rebuild from a grateful community.
Truth Organic Spa, now located at 74 N. Main Street in North Grafton, MA, has opened their doors to clients and the public after being closed for three and a half weeks. In the early morning of Sunday, November 13th of 2022, the home to this award-winning spa and wellness center had been extensively damaged due to a fire.
“The devastation and shock of the fire was something I had never experienced or felt before.” said Julie Bovenzi, owner of Truth Organic Spa. “I am so grateful to be in this new space so quickly.”
On the day of the fire the new spa location was secured at the previous Danko Orthodontics building located at 74 N. Main Street. The building offers space for Truth’s retail and reception, and six private rooms to continue with their offering of professional organic spa treatments and services. “Everything seemed divinely timed to help us get up and running again,” said Julie. “Our multitalented team of massage therapists, aestheticians, and staff immediately got to work with renovating and organizing the rooms – creating this tranquil space for the community’s self-care needs.”
The spa and wellness center has been serving the Worcester County and Grafton Community as Massachusetts’s first organic spa, established in 2006. “To be on the receiving end of so much unconditional love and support was extraordinary and encouraged me and our Truth team to keep moving forward,” Julie noted.
Truth began immediately receiving donations, phone calls, emails, and encouragement from their loyal clientele, other local businesses, and even selfless strangers who had become aware of the challenge this small business was faced with to get up and running again. “This event helped me realize how important our business and services are to many people in this Central Mass community. I will forever be so grateful to everyone!” said Julie.
The spa’s previous home remains boarded up and serves as inspiration to Julie and her team to rebuild. Julie admitted “Now that we are seeing clients again, my main focus moving forward will be working with the insurance companies, architects, and contractors to start the rebuilding process.”
Leading up to the fire, Truth had been constructing their expansion project to include five more treatment rooms and a host of other holistic services. “Plans for the rebuild are now underway and we will come back stronger and better than ever!” she continued.
Truth will be hosting an Open House at 74 N. Main Street on Sunday, January 8th from 4:30-7:00pm. All are invited to come see Truth’s new home for 2023, spin the wheel for prizes, and to learn about how organic products and services can support greater health and wellness. There will also be a Donation-Based Community Meditation Class held at Anytime Fitness in North Grafton from 9:30-10:45am that morning. Event details can be found online at truthorganicspa.com.
