Be clear and precise with your request, then sit back and watch the universe create it for you.

It was a Sunday afternoon when I received the call from my mom. She usually checked in on the weekends to catch up. I miss those calls from my mother, as she passed a few years back, but it’s the memories you hold onto.

There is one memory I recall vividly. I had been reading Louise Hay’s book You Can Heal Your Life, about the power of the spoken word, and our ability to change our lives by changing our thoughts and words. Mom’s call came at exactly the right moment.

My mom was an avid gardener spending hours in her flower garden. She was very upset when she called that day, sharing with me that it had been raining everywhere but at her house. She said, “It rains in town and down the street, but never at my house.”

Because I had just been reading Louise’s book and learning about the power of our words, I was shocked by what I was hearing her say. She was repeatedly telling the universe to make sure it never rained at her home, and the universe was complying!

My mother was a very smart woman who loved Jeopardy and was a whiz at answering the questions, but would she buy into the awareness of energetics and the realization of what she was manifesting?

I said mom, “You are telling the universe that it never rains at your house. Your words and intentions have energetic power. The universe is complying with your request.” Instead, I suggested a change in thinking with a new intention by saying, “It rains at my house often to feed the plants.” There was a slight pause in the conversation where she said, “Yes, I guess I could give it a try.”

A couple of weeks passed, and I phoned my mom to check in. To my astonishment she said, “It has been raining at our house so often that the roof is leaking, and now we have to replace the roof!” I smiled to myself. The magic had worked, and maybe it was time for a new roof, but the most amazing thing was that my mom had learned how to manifest.

I mentioned that she be very specific the next time she put in her request to the universe. She was learning about universal law and the way energy flows. The universe gives you what you request with your thoughts, words and emotions, or even something better.

The energy of the spoken word and of our thoughts sends out a unique energetic frequency to the universe. This energy is released with each thought, emotion, and spoken breath. We are powerful energetic creators sending out an energetic signal. After you make your request have faith that your request is on its way and let it go. Many people are already aware of this manifestation process, realizing that they are the designers of their own lives.

If you are new to this concept, you can experiment easily with this process by visualizing and setting the intention of what you are looking to manifest with your words and your thoughts. Be clear and precise with your request, then sit back and watch the universe create it for you.

Be mindful of each word spoken word. My hope for humanity is that we will soften our words consistently to create a world of kindness, compassion and love.

The Daily Quote from Abraham-Hicks for March 17, 2026

You will notice that those who speak most of prosperity, have it. Those who speak most of health, have it. Those who speak most of sickness, have it. Those who speak most of poverty, have it. It is Law. It can be no other way… The way you feel is your point of attraction, and so, the Law of Attraction is most understood when you see yourself as a magnet getting more and more of the way you feel. When you feel lonely, you attract more loneliness. When you feel poor, you attract more poverty. When you feel sick, you attract more sickness. When you feel unhappy, you attract more unhappiness. When you feel healthy and vital and alive and prosperous—you attract more of all of those things.
