In Thanksgiving for Healing Power
ProPublica’s recent investigative series “Uncovered: How the Insurance Industry Denies Coverage to Patients” reveals how health insurers reject millions of claims for treatment every year in America, impassively doling out misery, bankruptcy and death sentences in the process. One insurer touted a “defensible” way to avoid paying for one patient’s very expensive last hope for survival by re-defining his treatment as gene therapy, instead of drug therapy, as it had been labeled for years. The patient lost his battle with the insurance company, as well as his life.

This is not what healthcare was meant to be for anyone. To work as intended, healthcare must be accessible, affordable, and trustworthy. With the parasitic insurance and pharmaceutical industry hounds zealously guarding its gates, American mainstream healthcare is none of these. Instead, it has become an impenetrable bureaucracy, driven by outrageous greed for corporate profits, playing upon innate human fears of disease and dying, resulting in health insurance bondage.
There is no escape from the need to heal injury or disease while living in a body, just as there is no escape from the need to eat, drink, breathe, survive, procreate and die. Your body is already equipped to attend to all these basic needs. This also includes the power to heal the body through the human biofield.
The mainstream medical model soundly rejects claims of self-healing, not only because this concept undermines that model’s prestige, power and profits, but also because we suffer collectively from healing skills amnesia. There is clearly an honored place in our story for the miracles of lifesaving, lifechanging, western medical care, however it was never meant to replace self-healing as our primary form of medicine.
As healthcare system dysfunction increases, more people are tuning in to the existence of their own healing power, which is always accessible, affordable and trustworthy to receptive users. With patience and practice, they are developing their self-healing skills, healing all that is meant to be healed. Some health challenges serve as vital life lessons for both the afflicted and their caregivers, and may need to last years or even a lifetime to serve their purposes, and never heal.
Seemingly like magic, some conditions heal instantly. However, it’s usually the painful or annoying symptoms that keep one most focused on the goal of healing, and building the desire for relief. This leads one over and over to the healing source within. Practice is how we learn where that source is and how to access it. Your longing for this healing makes it happen — not only for your own personal healing but everything you desire the world to be.
Today, and every day, let us be in thanksgiving for the unique trials that lead us within to access our source of personal power, healing and creation.
