Inaugural Boston Food Tank Summit To Focus On Investing In Discovery
On April 1, 2017, Food Tank presents its first Boston Summit, “Investing in Discovery,” in collaboration with Tufts University and Oxfam America. The event will gather dozens of expert speakers and panelists who represent farmers, policymakers, businesses, chefs, nonprofit groups, elected officials, and more at the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. Panel topics include Long-Term Solutions for a Healthy Planet, The True Value of Food, Creating Better Food Access, and Farm and Food Innovations. Moderators for these panels include agricultural professionals and journalists from The Washington Post, National Public Radio, and more. More than 60,000 people from around the world streamed the last Food Tank Summit in Washington, D.C., at The George Washington University. During the February 2017 event, there were also one million organic views on Facebook Live. One of Food Tank’s goals is to create networks of people, organizations, and content that push for food system change, achieved in part through the conversation and connections cultivated at these Summits. Future 2017 Summits will take place in new locations for the first time: New York, Los Angeles, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
