Letter: Vision of Better Health

Hi Ms. Bedrosian,
After I read your “Musings” entitled “Ready for a Flight Into Abundance” (Winter, 2010), I had to sit down and write to you. I am so excited to read your views on the current healthcare field and the potential it holds. I couldn’t agree more with your belief that our bodies are designed to stay healthy as long as we provide the right raw materials to it. Just for the benefit of physical ease in eating fast food, we eventually take that ease out of our bodies and convert it to dis-ease.
Today, everyone has the same question for their healthcare providers: “Are there any pills to cure me?” Instead, ask yourself, “What can I do to cure this body of its problem or disease?” Allow me to ask it the JFK way: “Ask not what your doctor or your health insurance can do for you but what you can do for yourself.”
I envision future hospitals and rehab centers with large holistic centers where alternative treatments like Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, Reiki and many others are provided to meet the needs of educated patients who demand a better, non-toxic solution than just pill popping. — Ritu Kapur
