Fresh off the rebirth and renewal energies of winter solstice just days ago, and assured by the promise of returning light and warmth this spring, we plunge into the coldest, darkest days of winter ahead. Year after year, as we make this seasonal transition inward towards the warmth, we greet each other outwardly with “Happy New Year!”, anticipating the infinite possibilities each new year brings.

What will this new year bring to me, my family and friends, my planet? The spirit of the season propels us towards higher visions, daring dreams, and hope for the future, all of which we should eagerly nourish and expand upon lavishly. When you want to see something change, focus on the resolution as boldly, bravely, and consistently as you can. By speaking and thinking from a place of where you want to be, you are already 10 steps ahead in getting there. Let the promise of New Year speed you on your way.

While you cannot control many of the circumstances in the world around you, the good news is you are much more in charge of what happens next in your life than you might realize. Imagine lighting a campfire, starting with tiny bits of dry tinder, a spark, and a puff of air, which eventually ignites into the manifestation of flames.

Just like the fire, your thoughts are like smoldering smoke wisps, fanned one by one by one into life. The resonance theory of consciousness recognizes that every thought you think vibrates at a specific frequency, triggering other resonant thought frequencies around it into manifestation — like attracts like — ultimately weaving the detailed tapestry of your life into place.

Not only does this apply to your own thoughts, but also to the larger network of thought frequencies around you, known as the group mind. We are both individual and collective creators here on Earth, with access to an unlimited supply of creative thoughtform energy, but we are only just beginning to grasp the nature of this awesome human superpower roosting in our brains.

What Stands In Our Way

For well over a decade, an oft-quoted statistic from the National Science Foundation (NSF), refers to a 2005 article citing 60,000 thoughts per day for the average person, with 80% of them negative and 95% repetitive. Wow — what a heavy load of negativity to chew on and regurgitate daily!

Although the existence of this article was hilariously debunked just this year, it’s not too hard to concede that at least 80% of our daily thoughts probably are negative, driven by instinctual fears, long-held anxieties, petty worries and prejudices. Even a minute of mindfulness awareness demonstrates how quickly negative thoughts fill up the space — and those don’t even include all the subconscious thoughts we have no awareness of.

Unless you exist in a state of nirvana, there is no escape from negative distractions. Accept them as they present themselves to your awareness, but refocus your attention by consciously resonating with a higher purpose you have chosen instead of these fleeting thoughts.

Consciously Creating Healing

For instance, you could explore deeper self-healing as a higher purpose. Find something that is healing to you, and that you enjoy, and consciously allow your cells to receive this food or therapy or new belief as a healing tool. See the healing your cells want, and feel them receive it. Do more of the things that make you feel good to attract even more healthy frequencies to your self-healing body, and let it develop strong roots. Thriving and healing are natural to you; everyone is born a healer.

Likewise, everyone is born a family member of the same human race — billions of individuals unified as one singular race bestowed with the magnificence of creative potential, beauty and love. Only when we realize that none of us will get there until all of us are there together, will we have access to our full creative powers.

The reality is we are all one body, and just like in our own bodies, the liver and spleen can’t fight forever and survive. While living in harmony may seem like an impossible ask amidst our increasingly polarized populations not just in the US, but around the world, “the more we are stretched, the greater the chance of accelerating our evolution, both individually and as a human race,” writes Andrew Molnar in Bodies of Light: Breaking through the spiritual glass ceiling into humanity (2024).

No matter who is in the White House or who is in your own house, your work remains the same. Grab hold of your consciousness with both hands, the most powerful instrument of manifestation on Earth, and double down on committing to your positive future with harmony as your focus. Bring out the best in yourself and the world around you by showing up for love.
